“Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.” Hosea 10:12 (ESV). The expression, "Break up your fallow ground" (Hosea 10:12; Jeremiah 4:3)...
Authentic Motivations
“It is the chiefest point of happiness that a man is willing to be what he is.” ~ Desiderius Erasmus I am two weeks late in finishing this blog series. The only reason I can think of is I couldn’t quite find the right starting place. What I wanted to say wasn’t clear....
Authentically Wise
“A man must be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them.” ~ John Maxwell We are nearing the end of our series on Authenticity. We have just two more of the “7 Qualities of Truly Authentic People” to address...
A Christmas Tale of Two Storefronts
“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” ~ Calvin Coolidge There is a new tearoom on the square of the small town in which I live. I attended a...
Authentic Emotional Expression
“Some people think only intellect counts: knowing how to solve problems, knowing how to get by, knowing how to identify an advantage and seize it. But the functions of intellect are insufficient without courage, love, friendship, compassion, and empathy.” ~ Dean...
Authentic Connection
“The key to humor is often self-loathing or sarcasm. In a sense, that's how self-loathing is made palatable.” ~ James Grey Sarcasm seems to be the mode of communication these days. Social media can truly be a wonderful tool, but it can also reduce our communication...
Authentic Thoughtfulness
“The drive toward Life is protective, thoughtful, vulnerable, and invested in immaculate love. It is this last that marks the difference between a wise heart muddy with real life experiences in the trenches and a dry heart that functions on rote concepts alone.” ~...
Authentic Friendships
“One’s friends are that part of the human race with which one can be human.” ~ George Santayana We have been looking at Stephen Joseph’s article entitled "7 Qualities of Truly Authentic People" published in Psychology Today. In the opening paragraph, he writes,...

Podcast
I was honored to be a guest on Mike and Cynthia Savage’s podcast entitled A Savage Perspective. To gain perspective on what a mission’s trip into South East Asia looks like, listen to my interview with my former professor and his wife. He also asks me some pointed questions on what it is like as a woman called into Evangelism/Missions.
Books for Southeast Asian Children
Last time in Cambodia, we visited a village school where 800 children attend. Pastor Dara works with the teachers so that they might be able to present the gospel to these children. Pastor Dara is planting a church in the village. This school is isolated in that there is not much outside influence. As a matter of fact, we were the first westerners to visit the village. One of Pastor Dara’s dreams is to create a library for these children of English books with a Biblical worldview. With that in mind, we will be donating towards the establishment of school libraries in Southeast Asian villages where we have pastoral relationships. If you would like to donate toward books or the shipping fees, you may donate here. If you would like to know more, please email at info@kristeneodell.com.
