Writing Team

What could God do with a company of writers committed to using their gift for his purposes? I’m looking for people who fit a specific criterion: passionate about the Gospel, compassionate toward the plight of people, sensitive to cultural distinctions, and ready to make a difference through creative outlets. A sense of adventure is needed and a desire to form a strong team of like-minded people who serve Jesus together is a must.

How Do I Become Part of Your Writing Team?

If this opportunity speaks to you, I would like to get to know you. I will form this team from those I have mentored either through coaching or retreats. Watch for local writing retreats to be scheduled throughout the year. There are only a few requirements, but they are vital in creating a joyful team who will encourage one another along our journey.

You must be active and in good standing in your local church.

  • A letter of recommendation, on church letterhead from your pastor is required.
  • Two character references will also be contacted.

You must be a team player.

  • Missions is exciting, but spiritually charged.
  • This team needs to know how to encourage and pray for one another.
  • We also will stick together as a team. Those that engage in individual skirmishes outside of what is scheduled will be dismissed. Southeast Asia is amazing but can be a dangerous place.

You must be Spirit-led.

  • We will minister in churches who need the presence of the Holy Spirit.
  • We don’t have to agree on every nuance, but we need to not be polar opposites theologically.

You must be adventurous.

  • Southeast Asia is a culture unlike anything we know in America.
  • The food is amazing – but it’s not chicken nuggets and fries.
  • Throughout the course of our travels, we will come in contact with different cultural norms.

I am serious when it comes to ministry, but I love to have fun. The people we work with in these countries are some of the most humble and joyful people I have ever met. We will have time in our schedule to write about our experiences – both in ministry and exploring the culture around us. But ultimately, we want the Lord to show us how to use our writing to bless the Southeast Asian church and advance the Kingdom.

Books for Southeast Asian Children

Last time in Cambodia, we visited a village school where 800 children attend. Pastor Dara works with the teachers so that they might be able to present the gospel to these children. Pastor Dara is planting a church in the village. This school is isolated in that there is not much outside influence. As a matter of fact, we were the first westerners to visit the village. One of Pastor Dara’s dreams is to create a library for these children of English books with a Biblical worldview. With that in mind, we will be donating towards the establishment of school libraries in Southeast Asian villages where we have pastoral relationships. If you would like to donate toward books or the shipping fees, you may donate here. If you would like to know more, please email at info@kristeneodell.com.
