Prayers of Ascent: Psalm 122

“In the same way the sun never grows weary of shining, nor a stream of flowing, it is God's nature to keep His promises. Therefore, go immediately to His throne and say, 'Do as You promised.’” ~ Charles Spurgeon   https://ebible.com/nkjv/psalms/122 Unlike most of...

Prayers of Ascent: Psalm 121

“No traveler, whether a tree lover or not, will ever forget his first walk in a sugar-pine forest. The majestic crowns approaching one another make a glorious canopy, through the feathery arches of which the sunbeams pour, silvering the needles and gilding the stately...

Prayers of Ascent: Our New Normal

“Get correct views of life and learn to see the world in its true light. It will enable you to live pleasantly, to do good, and, when summoned away, to leave without regret.” ~ Robert E. Lee As I write, I just returned from a trip to Arkansas with a friend. Our...

The Psalms of Ascent

"The way to Heaven is ascending; we must be content to travel uphill, though it be hard and tiresome, and contrary to the natural bias of our flesh." ~ Jonathan Edwards Next week, along with a friend, I am headed to Arkansas with a specific goal in mind. We are hiking...

Leaders are Revealed through Adversity

Leaders are Revealed through Adversity

A leader is a dealer in hope. ~ Napoleon Bonaparte  A month ago, it wouldn’t have occurred to us that we would witness the entire world come to an abrupt halt. No matter where we are on the scale of opinion, this quarantine experience is surreal. However, I’ve walked...

Roots: Root Rot

“Pride is essentially competitive in nature. We pit our will against God's.” ~ Ezra Taft Benson I saw a quote today by Elizabeth Elliot that spoke volumes. She said, “Maturity starts with the willingness to give oneself.” It struck at the core of what Father has been...

Roots: Grounded and Established in Love

Podcast

I was honored to be a guest on Mike and Cynthia Savage’s podcast entitled A Savage Perspective. To gain perspective on what a mission’s trip into South East Asia looks like, listen to my interview with my former professor and his wife. He also asks me some pointed questions on what it is like as a woman called into Evangelism/Missions.

Books for Southeast Asian Children

Last time in Cambodia, we visited a village school where 800 children attend. Pastor Dara works with the teachers so that they might be able to present the gospel to these children. Pastor Dara is planting a church in the village. This school is isolated in that there is not much outside influence. As a matter of fact, we were the first westerners to visit the village. One of Pastor Dara’s dreams is to create a library for these children of English books with a Biblical worldview. With that in mind, we will be donating towards the establishment of school libraries in Southeast Asian villages where we have pastoral relationships. If you would like to donate toward books or the shipping fees, you may donate here. If you would like to know more, please email at info@kristeneodell.com.
